Tree Moving Day

Fernando and crew are hard at it.  After the trees are dug up, they're laid here to be pruned.  The remaining leaves are tied together with a special twine that will disintegrate with time in the sun and allow the branches to open again.  The trees are also measured in length so when they get planted in their new location, they will be placed at the proper depth making them all the same height.

It was fascinating to see the tightly woven root balls on the trees.

The fork lift carries the trees one by one to their new resting place by the ballfield.

Holes are five feet deep.

Each tree is measured to be the perfect distance from the fence line.

One done.  Many more to go.

Lillie Corbitt captured this video for us.
Just like pulling a tooth.  Wiggle it back and forth and then yank!
