End of Another Week

We can see the layout of the dog run area.  Looks like they're building a nice wall/fence for the pups.

While Don and I were standing there this morning, a covey of quail entered the scene.

Followed closely by a couple rabbits.  Looks like they all know this is a pet friendly area now.  :)

More digging in Phase 3.

Loads and loads of sub-base material for the pickleball courts.

After being poured and leveled, the material is packed down.

There's activity over near the food court area.

So far....just a hole.  Not sure what they're doing yet.

Another house being prepped.

I copied this photo from the Facebook page.  Here's Eddie from our maintenance staff cleaning and patching the north hot tub.  Thanks Eddie!!

We took a ride out past the proposed Phoenix Mart project to check on the progress.  Well......there are some nice impressive signs built so far but that's all.

Courts are Starting

Now that the area is cleared of hard desert soil, the crews are spreading the appropriate layers that form the undercoat or sub base for the pickleball courts.  There is always a truck or someone with a hose to keep down the dust.

This tractor is equipped with the GPS levelers to achieve the correct height.

I believe the initial base is gravel.

Big dump trucks are bringing the next layer that gets spread on top.

There is a mason working to extend that back brick wall.

The trench had to be dug, footings poured, rebar installed, and bricks laid.  LOTS of work and expense in this project.

Farther on, the tonka crew is still working on installation of all the sewer, water, and electrical lines for the whole phase 3 project.

House number 4 has arrived on the new street.  John Blount's crew has no time to rest!

Elsewhere around the resort, our landscape crew is cleaning up from all the palm tree trimming.  Workers went between all the houses and blew the debris to the street where it can be picked up with the big vacuum.

Just something to remember while you look at all these people so hard at work.  The thermometer next to me reads 104 and it is only 10:30 a.m. still in the cooler part of the day!!

How hot is it????????

Wednesday Update

Here's MaryAnn Brown again trying to avoid being on this side of a camera.  She's out early each morning to get photos for the Facebook page.

Building B really looks great!  We love the new lighting and paint colors.

We're going to have another small classroom similar to the SanTan Room with a projector and screen.  AWESOME!  I have a meeting with MaryAnn this afternoon to talk about computer classes for the season.  This extra classroom should be perfect.

Aha.....all those chalk lines we saw yesterday are now explained.  They're putting electrical outlets on each of the posts.  This will make it much easier when we have events and vendor booths along this road.  GREAT idea!

A third house was installed on this street this morning.

Tonkas are still busy.
