Just Another Day

It might be a bit chilly for us desert dwellers, but we love the sunshine.  I went for a nice bike ride just to see what folks were up to this morning.

I watched in awe as these two guys were giving themselves a good work out on the softball field.  I can't imagine hitting a whole bucket of balls and still be able to walk!

Meanwhile, out in the field, his friend was running to catch the fly balls and return them all to the bucket again.  Great exercise.

The pickleball courts were definitely in use as a round robin was just getting started.

It's not just organized events and activities that keep us busy.  There are always happy hours or friendly get togethers to attend.

Yes.....you saw that right.  Tom is very proud of his fishing Santa hat!  We're all glad that he and Elaine are such avid fishermen as we get to enjoy the fruits of their labor at those great fish frys.

Jean Riseland picked a beautiful day to have friends over for a housewarming event at her lovely new home.  Beautiful view down the golf course.

Don't forget to pick a child's name from the giving tree in the Activities office!  Presents must be turned in by December 10.

Happy Turkey Day

Yes.....it has been a few days since I've posted anything new but its because I'm having too much fun with friends.  Here's a salute to the gals who couldn't join us for movies and a treat at Culvers!

Tennis courts are in progress.  Posts have been pulled and the surface is getting its special coating

Over at the new pool, Fernando is at the controls of the tonka digger as they get ready to plant the trees.

Faustino is on vacation for a few days so Moses got the digging duty at the bottom of the hole.

Ya'll have a GREAT turkey day.

Prime Rib + New Tennis Courts

Check out this cute photo of an anxious customer waiting to enter the new dog park at the south pavilion.

Don and I found this tiny baby scorpion on the side of our house this morning.  He's a cutie but did not survive the stomp of Don's shoe.

We enjoyed a delicious prime rib dinner on the bistro patio Thursday night.  Thank you to Marilyn Goeken and crew for a great dinner.  Weather was perfect too!

Yummy lemon pie for dessert!

The same crew that installed our pickleball courts is now on duty to replace the four old tennis courts.  Work has started today

First chore is to take down the fences and pull out the posts.

It's a good thing that they have heavy duty equipment for this job as it wouldn't be easy to pull those posts out of the concrete.

Patio Sale

Remember the Palm Creek patio sale this Saturday.  Fun to travel around the park and see what our residents have for sale.  I love to find some of our crafters who have their goods on display and available.  You can pick up a map of sites that are holding a sale from the Activities office Friday afternoon after 1:00.  Patio sales are scheduled to start at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning.  Pick up a friend and travel the park.

It's not too late to list your site if you want to hold a sale.  Sign up in Activities so you are listed on the map.

P.S.  Be sure to stop by 1708 for lots of cute Christmas decorations, stuffed animals, and household goods.

National Pickleball Tournament

Today was Palm Creek's day to shine for the National Pickleball Tournament.
A special staging area for the winning players and photographs.

The weather was perfect!  Just a light breeze to keep us cool but not enough to interfere with the games.

Great attendance!  Over 430 cars were admitted for the tournament.

It was so much fun to watch the players of different ages and skill levels.

Our PC staff was on hand to help in all areas.
Marion Nelson

There was a whole staff of shuttle drivers.

Vendors galore including our own Pro Shop.

Tom Gearhart was a familiar voice over the PA system.

The national association had all the media equipment needed to broadcast the event.

Yes....our General Manager was there also.

I was glad to see that our sales staff had a booth to advertise our beautiful resort.

Needless to say, the Sports Grill staff was VERY busy!!!

Marg Ouimet was on hand to staff the medical booth all week ... even at Robson.  Her days were 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 or later each night.  Marg is devoted to providing medical treatment for one and all.
