Construction Continues + Palm Trees

It's always busy over in the Phase 3 part of the resort.  Construction crews and concrete trucks abound.

We ran into John Blount who is measuring more lots for new houses.  His best guess is about 35 new park models coming in this summer.

Palm trees are getting their annual haircut.

Bees and scorpions anyone???  Here's how to get a ring-side seat.

Mama duck only has four chicks with her this morning.  Hmmm......wonder where they all went.  Perhaps I don't really want to know.

Okay.......here come the triple digits.  Mornings are still lovely but we definitely get up EARLY to enjoy it.  Daylight is upon us by 5:00 a.m.  We'll all be looking for indoor activities to while away the afternoons for the next couple months.

It must be ideal weather for raising doves as the birds are certainly busy.  Spotted two new nesters today.

Memorial Day

It's a very quiet day.........Monday........Memorial Day.  I took these photos as we drove up Cole Circle this morning.  Thought these would make a nice gesture to acknowledge the meaning of the day.    Thank you to the residents who created these simple but appropriate and thoughtful displays.

Memorial Day Weekend

Uh Oh....triple digits are finally in the forecast but the good news is that it will still cool down at night keeping the mornings absolutely gorgeous.

The golfers are having a GREAT time in this weather.

Mr. Duck just happened by and posed for the camera too.

Big poles going up by the new pool to install fencing.

More houses keep appearing over in Phase 3.  Lots of activity in the area every day.

More conduit for the fiber optic arriving.

Here's Bob Daniel and Mark Kenner at work preparing our lunch.

Over 60 in attendance for lunch.

If you're worried about us friends you left behind, .... fear not.  We're doing just fine.

An Italian tourist asks a blonde man: "Why do scuba divers always fall backwards off their boats?"

To which the blonde man replies:
"If they fell forward, they'd still be in the boat."

Aerate

Another absolutely BEAUTIFUL morning!  Average daily temp for this time of year is 97 but it has been cooling down at night making evenings and mornings just awesome!

I can handle this weather just fine!

Time to aerate the putting green on the golf course.

Had fun at poker last night.  We're still playing at least three tables Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and even some Omaha on Saturday afternoons.  Last night Linda and Doug entertained us as they danced and sang sharing Doug's mp4 player.  One ear plug each.  Never a dull moment.

Last night's final table.

Two blonde men find three grenades, and they decide to take them to a police station.
One asked: "What if one explodes before we get there?"
The other  says: "We'll lie and say we only found two."

News from morning rounds

Hello Everyone:
Say howdy to Max and Shirl at their pretty home on Granite Street.  We just met them this week while we were out on our rounds.

I thought it was interesting to see the prickly pear plants aftr they have flowered.  Look at the hundreds of little fingers that fall from the plant when blossoms are done.

The palm trees are just coming into blossom.

See our little hummingbird on the upper right branch?  That's where he parks so he can watch over our feeder and chase all the other hummers away.

Mama duck has about eight babies and delights all of us with their antics as they closely follow her lead.

The fence guys are here again.  Looks like they're going to install TALL fencing around the swimming pool and pavillion area to try and contain the foul balls.

Now that's a drill bit!

There's a trench all the way across the golf course now in preparation for the fiber optic cable.

We spotted one lonely duckling crossing the road all by his lonesome.  Then he hopped into the creek and started eating so he must be okay on his own.
